The best prevention to stop small insects from living in your home is not to allow them any small cracks and crevices and to fill them up by using caulk, and properly sized wood trim boards. Vents and Screens

Ridge and gable vents in time will eventually deteriorate or worse yet not properly installed and should be inspected annually.
